Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, is the operator of the OML30 JV between NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (previously NPDC) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL), has begun its scholarship intake process for indigenes of OML30 host communities in the Niger Delta region.

The intake process began on 19 August 2022 and will run until 19 November 2022 across the 112 communities of OML 30. It is for secondary and university applicants for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Sola Adebawo, the company’s general manager, government, joint venture and external relations, said that about 800 scholars will benefit from this year’s batch of the scholarship program.

The OML 30 scholarship programme has sponsored over 4,300 scholars from the 112 host communities since its launch in 2012, ensuring access to high-quality secondary education and further education.

The programme is in accordance with the  United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-4) on education.

Adebawo noted that the HEOSL chief executive officer Ado Oseragbaje and the company’s joint venture partners regard education as essential to national development.

“This is why we are committed to supporting educational development in the communities neighbouring our operations as well as in Delta State in general,” Adebawo said.

He said the company’s social performance efforts are focused on economic empowerment, health, and education and that the OML 30 scholarship programme is one of the numerous CSR projects supported by HEOSL in its operational locations.
