Heirs Insurance, Heirs Life plan to disrupt market begins with policy sales digitization

Heirs Insurance Group, the insurance arm of Heirs Holdings, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing insurance groups, has launched an initiative aimed at empowering underserved communities through upcycling, in line with its sustainability goals.

The initiative, themed “The Good Project,” seeks to raise awareness in communities about the benefits of converting waste materials into reusable items, thus reducing the negative effects of climate change while also improving the financial well-being of participants.

As part of the project, Heirs Insurance Group donated school supplies and a cash contribution to over 500 schoolchildren in the Makoko community of Lagos.

The Good Plastic Project highlights the group’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community development. It was carried out in collaboration with Slum2School Africa and Eco Barter, both of which share Heirs Insurance Group’s vision for sustainability and social impact.

This initiative is a key part of Heirs Insurance Group’s flagship sustainability efforts, demonstrating how corporate responsibility can create meaningful change while integrating sustainability into its core operations.

Speaking about the project, Niyi Onifade, Sector Head, Heirs Insurance Group, said, “Through this project, we are demonstrating the potential of sustainability, emphasising its role in improving lives while preserving the environment. We are not only reducing waste and contributing to the upliftment and well-being of communities, we are also creating awareness for the financial benefits that upcycling offers”.

Onifade further reiterated that the monetary donation and school supplies were intended to provide hope and put smiles on the faces of children and their parents, especially at the start of a new year when families need all the support they can get.
