Fuel scarcity and long queues of vehicles have been observed in major streets of the commercial city of Kano.

This development is coming on the heels of what is believed to be shortage of petrol or premium motor spirit (PMS) in most petrol filling stations across the city.

The development is a follow up to the pronouncement by President Bola Ahmed-Tinubu during his inaugural address on Monday about ending petroleum subsidy regime in the country.

At the moment the only few filling stations that are dispensing fuel sell from N400 to N560 per litre, while others shut their gates.

An independent oil marketer, AY Shafa on Murtala Mohammed Way in Kano despite dispensing fuel for N560 per litre has a very long queue of vehicles.
