BUA Group wins outstanding Nigerian conglomerate award

BUA Group, one of Africa’s largest food, manufacturing and infrastructure conglomerates, has been named Nigeria’s outstanding indigenous conglomerate of the decade by Marketing Edge, a leading market and advertising publication, during its  annual marketing awards ceremony in Lagos.

 

The ceremony also saw O’tega Ogra, BUA Group’s general manager, corporate communications, emerge as the outstanding corporate communications personality of the year.

 

In naming Ogra for the award for 2021, the committee remarked that the general manager of BUA Group has continued to show exemplary leadership and unsurpassed grasp of the marketing and corporate communications landscape in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

 

According to the committee, Ogra’s leadership at the helm of corporate communications at BUA Group has helped propel the brand to enviable heights, while ensuring unparalleled brand affinity and brand loyalty for his organisation, its subsidiaries, as well as the people who make up the company.

 

A statement by BUA thanked the organisers for recognising the company’s hard work, growth and contributions to the development of Nigeria’s economy in the last 10 years through innovative and high-quality products, exceptional service delivery and social impact.

 

It further noted that BUA, in the last decade had improved Nigeria’s economic capacity by investing billions of dollars in building cement factories, as well as through various investments in the sugar, real estate, oil and gas, flour and pasta sectors that have contributed greatly to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

 

“We want to thank Marketing Edge for this award. This award is an acknowledgement of the hard work, and commitment of our employees in unlocking opportunities for the development of Nigeria and Africa. This award will spur us to do more in the coming years,” the statement read.
