Microsoft unveils ‘Your Phone’ for wireless transfer of content

Tech giant, Microsoft, on Wednesday launched ‘Your Phone’, a PC app it’s been testing with Windows Insiders that allows users to transfer content wirelessly between an Android smartphone and Windows 10 devices.

With the PC app now available for everyone, not just insiders, users will be able to drag and drop photos from an Android-powered mobile phone to PC. This will require an updated Android 7.0 operating system and a Windows 10 device to install the app.

In order to access ‘Your Phone’, users need to download the app on their computer from the Microsoft Store. A complementary app that runs on an Android device is also available in the Google Play marketplace. Once those are set up and linked, users will be able to transfer content.

business a.m. observed that the app is somewhat limited for now, due to the inability to send files over or share some music tracks between devices. And there’s no indication on the app listing in the Microsoft Store when that feature might be available.
