The Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N2.86 billion revenue between January and June and made 620 seizures with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N432.93 million, according to the Customs Area Controller of Seme command, Comptroller Mohammed Aliyu, in a statement on Monday.

Aliyu said the revenue accrual was a reflection of the NCS’ commitment to its duties and sustained compliance by stakeholders.

He said he said the N2.86 billion was raked in, despite the current low volume of importation via the border.

The Nigeria Customs Service, at large, recorded its highest revenue collection of over N1 trillion, beating its target of N770 billion for 2017.
