The board of directors of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc. has announced the appointment of Chris Mmeje as acting managing director and chief executive. This followed the resignation of Ebere Igboko Ekpunobi who has been chief executive since March 2016 but had to resign on poor health after suffering injuries from a sporting accident.

In a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Wednesday September 27, 2017, the company said Mmeje’s appointment is with immediate effect. The notice equally indicated that, until his new appointment, Mmeje has been the finance director of the company since 2008, and that he had had a 25-year career in the banking industry before joining Neimeth.

Mmeje would oversee the affairs of the company until the emergence of a substantive managing director.
